New look!

I have finished the majority of the website updating, and now it’s time to get busy with the content. I haven’t posted anything recently, and so far things have been slow on the creative front. So, time to get busy and start taking action for 2010!

First post of the year!

I had given my portfolio a rest, as I felt I was focusing too much on elements which I think were a step in the wrong direction.

To coincide with the new year, and change, I will be updating my portfolio with elements, which will be directed more at what works in the industry.

This digresses from graphics which I have designed with only myself in mind. The trouble being, that because I’m in print, I’m usually supplied artworks, and rarely asked to design, so clients are purely fictitious for this reason. So my interpretation of what a client may ask for, is portrayed in my new designs.

Two new designs have been added to kick off my new year, an xbox poster for a friends company, and a valentine’s day concept for a restaurant.I will be looking to update the site completely over the next few months, and will aim to transform it into something which will hopefully appeal to potential employers.

Fancy javascript

Added a script today for the design section, which previews the pictures. This script can be found at: http://www.lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/.

I’ve come to realise that my portfolio could use more photo manipulations, in order to emphasise that I can actually use photoshop. Most of my designs appear to be in vector format, which isn’t particularly a bad thing. But it’s time to broaden my horizons!

Nearly there…

My first post on this blog is to announce that I have almost completed my portfolio design. There is a temporary showcase of some of my work at the moment. This will continually be updated, and no doubt so will the website itself. This website has taken weeks to get to a satisfactory state, and now I can start adding the icing on the cake!
